The headline salary is only part of a UAE physiotherapy offer. A standard package usually includes:
- Housing allowance, either paid monthly or provided as accommodation
- Transport allowance, typically AED 500 to AED 1,500 per month, or a vehicle for home healthcare roles
- Annual return flight to your home country
- Medical insurance, mandatory for all employees in the UAE
- End of service gratuity: 21 days basic pay per year for the first five years, 30 days per year thereafter
- 30 calendar days of annual leave
Always ask whether a quoted figure is basic salary or total package. The difference is commonly 30% to 40%, and it is the single most frequent source of confusion in UAE offers.
Why Physiotherapist Salary Figures for Dubai Vary So Much
Search for physiotherapist pay in Dubai and you will find figures from under AED 3,000 to AED 25,000 and above per month, sometimes on the same page of results. Most are technically sourced. Four things explain the spread.
Basic versus package. Some sources report basic salary only, while UAE offers are normally discussed as an all-inclusive monthly figure. The same job looks 30% to 40% cheaper when quoted as basic.
Clinic and hospital averaged together. Small clinics employ the largest number of physiotherapists and pay the least. A dataset that averages them with hospital and sports roles describes nobody accurately.
Advertised versus paid. Several salary sites build their figures from advertised job postings rather than confirmed salaries, which skews the top end high.
Annual, monthly and hourly mixed up. Some aggregator pages mislabel annual, monthly and hourly figures, which is how an obviously impossible number ends up beside a sensible one. If a figure looks far too low or far too high, check the unit before drawing a conclusion.

DHA Physiotherapy Exam and Licensing Costs
The DHA physiotherapy exam fee is USD 240, approximately AED 880, paid directly to Prometric when you book your test date. Total DHA licensing for a physiotherapist runs approximately AED 3,100 to AED 3,800 once DataFlow verification, the application fee and licence issuance are included.

For Physiotherapists Applying from India
Indian physiotherapists holding a BPT or MPT are eligible to apply for a DHA physiotherapist licence.
In practice the sequence is: attest your degree and experience certificates, complete primary source verification, sit the DHA physiotherapy exam unless exempt, then receive an eligibility letter that allows an employer to complete your licence. Three points worth planning around. First, your university and every employer on your CV must respond to verification, so start early and make sure experience letters are on letterhead with dates and your role stated clearly. Second, an employment offer is normally required before the licence is issued, so the practical order is eligibility first, job second, licence third. Third, budget two to four months from starting verification to holding an eligibility letter, and longer if an institution is slow to respond.

- Target hospital, rehabilitation and sports roles rather than small clinics, even at a similar starting figure, because the ceiling is far higher
- Build a specialty: neurological, cardiorespiratory and sports physiotherapy carry the clearest premium
- Complete an MPT or a recognised specialty certification if you intend to move into senior or sports roles
- Get licensed before you apply, not after: licensed candidates are faster and cheaper for an employer to onboard, and negotiate from a stronger position
- Ask for the allowance breakdown in writing and negotiate basic salary specifically, because your gratuity is calculated on it
